Join the Indigenous Peoples Law and Policy (IPLP) Program for our Fall 2022 Distinguished Alumni Speaker Series to meet, learn from, and network with some of IPLP’s most distinguished alumni. Join us in person or online!

This November, IPLP and Arizona Law alumnus Francisco Olea (’18), Phoenix Region Director at the National Indian Gaming Commission, will lead a discussion on tribal gaming law and regulation, recent developments in tribal gaming law, and his 22 years of industry experience.

Himdag Ki: (way of life house) invites you to the opening of The Place Where Clouds Are Formed. The exhibition is a collaborative art project that combines poetry and photography with contributions by O'odham artists and activists to reflect upon the borderlands of the Sonoran Desert—more specifically, in the original territories of the Tohono O'odham.

Gentry (Cherokee), Researcher, writer, and advocate for Indigenous Peoples' rights in migration, clPeoples'ange, community health, and languages.

IRes Visiting Scholar, Dr. Melissa Arcand will present, "Indigenous nature-based climate solutions on agricultural lands" at the ENVS Fall Colloquium

Melissa Arcand is a soil biogeochemist with research interests focused on optimizing plant-soil synergies for the design of nutrient and energy efficient cropping systems. She teaches and is the academic advisor for students in the Kanawayihetaytan Askiy program, designed to train students to work in resource management and land governance in Indigenous communities across Canada.
