Native American Faculty Group

The University of Arizona Native Faculty was established in January 2016. The UA Native Faculty meets regularly and hosts faculty luncheons, professional development sessions, networking events, and professional seminars.

The goals of the University of Arizona Native Faculty are to: 1) Raise awareness and appreciation for the contributions made by Native American/Indigenous Faculty; 2) Provide educational and informational programs; 3) Inform the Membership, University of Arizona and Tucson students and community of current trends, issues, and developments related to Native American/Indigenous Scholars; 4) Encourage and promote recruitment, career development, retention, promotion, tenure and networking opportunities for Native American/Indigenous Faculty; 5) Provide information on resources for Native American/Indigenous Faculty; 6) Foster a supportive climate for Native American/Indigenous Faculty by emphasizing involvement, collaboration, and inclusion; and 7) Promote respectful and transparent relationships between tribal communities and the University of Arizona in adherence to the University of Arizona Tribal Consultation Policy.

The Organization is organized for the support of Native American Faculty at the University of Arizona. The purposes of this Organization are to: 1) Serve as the primary resource for Native American/Indigenous Faculty at the University of Arizona; 2) Support the tenure and promotion of Native American/Indigenous Faculty at the University of Arizona; 3) Promote the programs of Native American/Indigenous Faculty at the University of Arizona; and 4) Support, retain, and promote a more diverse faculty at the University of Arizona.
