Mrs. Abeyta is a member of the Navajo Nation originally from To'hajiilee, New Mexico. She is a 2021 Juris Doctor Candidate in good standing at the University of Arizona James E. Rogers College of Law. Ms. Abeyta chose to attend law school as a way of improving her life, the life of her family, and to develop the skills necessary for a continued career in public service. While a law students, Mrs. Abeyta remains active in her home community by serving on the To'hajilee Community School Board of Education where she pushes for policy and funding opportunities to assist K-12 grade students especially during the pandemic. Mrs. Abeyta successfully served as President of National NALSA and even served a seat on the Native American Bar Association. She helped UArizona gain exposure for their best practices for Native Student studying law and for the collabration with renowned faculty members and legal professionals on a number of projects such as a National writing competition and moot court competition. Mrs. Abeyta is an incredible student, mother, and leader. Perhaps most impressively, she has sought no personal credit for her achievements, but has instead worked to ensure that recognition goes to the University of Arizona and the community of Native students.
