Navigating Recent Supreme Court Decisions Impacting Tribes

Join as Tribal Leaders and panel experts explore where the Court has been, what recent decisions tell us, and what we can make of the ongoing challenges to Tribal sovereignty post-Castro-Huerta. Recent cases to be discussed include: Arizona v. Navajo Nation, Sackett v. EPA, Brackeen v. Haaland.

This training will be held in collaboration with Holistic Wellness Counseling & Consultant Services. Over the course of two days, participants will examine the history of trauma and resilience of Indigenous Communities and delve into ethical practices of research while working with Sovereign Nations. The sessions will include breakout groups, interactive activities, and space for meaningful dialogue geared toward participants' inquiry and field of work. Continuing Education Units (CEUs) will be awarded for all participants who complete training.

For anyone on Navajo this summer, please join us for this year's Horses Connecting Communities Annual Meeting or share with friends/family. This year's event will be held on June 17-18, 2023 from 9am-4pm at the Diné College Rodeo Arena in Tsaile, AZ.

Join CIELO in partnership with the University of Arizona's College of Nursing & Public Health for this week-long program and learn about the communities of the Hopi, Navajo, Pascua Yaqui, and Tohono O'odham Nations' healthcare practices. There is no cost to the program! CIELO will provide all transportation, meals, and lodging (which involves camping; sleeping bags, tents, and camping materials will be provided).

Please join us for the two-day 2023 Tribal Environmental Health Forum on Tuesday, May 16th, and Wednesday, May 17th, 2023. This forum is a chance for Tribal Environmental Health Professionals and University faculty and staff to come together to address the current and future environmental health needs of our tribal communities. This forum will offer the chance for participants to hear from guest speakers, participate in workshops and network with other environmental health professionals.
