UA Tribal Climate Adaptation Liaison Hired

The Southwest Climate Adaptation Science Center (SWCASC), located within the Institute of the Environment, has hired a new Tribal Climate Adaptation Liaison, Althea Walker. Ms. Walker started her position on July 30. Her primary purpose is to provide outreach to tribal governments, schools, and communities that are interested in issues related to climate change and climate resilience planning.

Ms. Walker comes to the position with a Master of Science degree in Environmental Technology Managment from Arizona State University. She is a member of the Gila River Indian Community, and has worked as an environmental education and outreach specialist for the Community's Department of Environmental Quality for the past three years.
